Selling online is an exciting venture. TheSmileShop Team found a cool and fun way to connect with existing clients, and create friendship with new online contacts at Multiply and one at Upd8t.com (new Online Business Blogging Community).
The real challenge begins when you create your own online store. I am learning this as me & my Senior Business Partner created TheSmileShop Magazine (www.thesmileshopph.com)
The most difficult aspect of selling online is to establish trust between the customer and yourself. In a traditional store, you can talk with the sales person. You have visual cues that tell you something about the sales person. Here online, we send PM, Fill-up Order Form, send SMS (it’s an advantage we Filipinos love texting) it’s the easy and fun way of doing business online.
In real life I dread doing a “hard sell”, never knew about marketing, and not even great when it comes to functioning well on the computer, maybe because of the nature of my offline job as a Dentist, not peddling around and shouting…”hey do you have cavities? let me fill them up!..” wouldn’t that look and sound funny? LOL.
Recently I have had the opportunity to read a book that ignited a desire to join the dot com explosion and e-commerce ” The Best of MarketingRx for Entrepreneurs” by Dr Ned Roberto and Ardy Roberto - featuring 21 Marketing Prescriptions to Help Entrepreneurs Succeed.
Grabbed this book by accident thinking it’s an Entrepreneur mini Magazine, and checking the authors even made me hurry up to the check out counter. Dr Ned Roberto, to many the guru of marketing, has authored many books and a Coca-cola Professor of International Marketing at AIM for more than 20 years. Ardy Roberto, co-founder of Salt & Light Ventures and Inspire Leadership Consultancy…named by Entrepreneur Magazine in 2006 as one of the Top 10 Entrpreneurs of the Year.
Trust me, you’re gonna love what’s inside MarketingRx book. From estimating market share, pinpointing target market, increasing new product success rate, going up against the giants in service marketing, mobile marketing, branding, buzz marketing, pricing….aagh! loaded with practical and easy to implement prescriptions. Exactly what every entrepreneur need to know.
If i were to say “Thank You” I learned a lot! - it would be to the authors of MarketingRx, now I’m following their blog at http://www.marketingrx.org/.
